CORRECTING MISALIGNMENT WHILE BRIGHTENING SMILES

At our West Hollywood practice, Dr. l McLeod is a certified provider of Invisalign clear braces. This treatment is a viable option for patients looking to address mild to moderate malocclusion. These virtually invisible aligner trays provide discreet treatment as they have no metal components of any kind. Every aligner is custom crafted to fit each patient’s smile perfectly.

Due to its removable design, Invisalign patients have the added benefit of implementing other aesthetic services such as teeth whitening. We offer both Zooms! in-office whitening and take-home. The take-home option provides patients with a convenient whitening process to brighten their smile at their leisure.

RENEWING DENTAL FUNCTION AND BEAUTY

Decay or damage can threaten aesthetics and dental structure. Our practice offers an extensive replacement solution with dental implants. After placement by an expert, Dr. McLeod finalizes treatment with our top-quality porcelain crowns and dentures.

Dental Implants are inserted into the jawbone and serve as an artificial tooth root. Once the area has healed, our crowns or dentures are affixed to the titanium post. By combining several dental service and restorations, Dr. McLeod can restore a patient’s entire smile.

ADDRESSING DENTAL IMPERFECTIONS

Veneers are thin yet durable shells that cover aesthetic problems, correct discoloration, adjust the size or shape of teeth and even address gaps between them. At Neil McLeod, DDS, we offer top-quality porcelain material to craft our personalized ceramic covers. Applied mostly to the most visible teeth, imperfections in the smile are no longer a concern.

WHEN TO GET A PORCELAIN CROWN?

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.

Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

Six reasons to get a Porcelain Crown

  • Broken or fractured teeth.
  • Cosmetic Enhancement.
  • Decayed teeth.
  • Fractured fillings.
  • Large fillings
  • The tooth has a root canal.

What should I know before getting a Porcelain Crown?

A crown procedure usually requires two appointments. Your first appointment will include taking several highly accurate molds (or impressions) that will be used to create your custom crown. A mold will also be used to create a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks until your new crown is fabricated by a dental laboratory.side view of woman's mouth with new crowns

While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface to properly fit the crown. Once these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be placed with temporary cement and your bite will be checked to ensure you are biting properly.

At your second appointment, your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully placed to ensure the spacing and bite are accurate.

You will be given care instructions and encouraged to have regular dental visits to check your new crown.
